I have to hand it to Danielle on this one. I haven’t had much to do with trying to get Brandon to clean his room. It’s mostly been Danielle. I’m willing to bet that my carrying on and criticism about the constant mess was more detrimental to getting it clean than anything. Let’s just say everyone knew what I thought about it but nothing ever changed.

A few weeks ago Danielle said she had been doing some reading about how to get kids to keep their room clean. Not just clean it, but keep it clean. I was interested enough to remember the conversation but didn’t get involved because we divide parental time up and she seemed to know there was a better way on this one.

Well, it has been working! And tonight was over the top! He went through his toys and put some aside he doesn’t want anymore, re-organized all the others including his cloths, books, electronic games and on we go. All with no intervention from us at all. He never asked for help or had some treat coming at the end - in fact it was the hour before bed time tonight. His room is cleaner than any place in our house all because he knows how and went ahead and did it.

What a kid.

Can you believe this scene is still very common on the Island Highway? I'm amazed by the size of the logs still.

Oh god, it's Duncan!

Stopped at Canadian tire to put oil in Shag, she was running low and I'll tell you I could be in any city when I walk in there. Big box stores really homoginize us everywhere.

I stopped by coffee on the moon to drop off some Cirque de Sade Cards for whatever reason. It's a funky coffee shop in town here.

Stopped at Dads and got dressded into the Sunday Best "Wednesday betters" and headed to the church. It was a nice little service for my Great Aunt Kath. Met a lot of family I don't recognize anymore.

I miss my family at home. See you soon Poppy and B.

Four generations

Santa got Brandon a litter of stuffed puppies.

'That's exactly what I wanted!'

He was so excited his eyes lit up so very bright and he rolled around on the couch with them. I'm so glad I thought to carry my camera this morning.

"Santa is a very nice man", he said.



He has been holding down food for the last 9 hours.
