8th-Nov-2005 07:41 pm - Want vs Need

Want:

To desire greatly; wish for.

Need:

A condition or situation in which something is required or wanted

I’m a great one for saying, "I want and desire but I don’t need anything" like there is any difference. I just looked the two words up and see they are very similar. It’s like I’ve been saying, "I would eat oranges, but I don’t like fruit."

I started thinking about this the other day when Poppy spots a coffee travel mug on sale at (none other than) Starbucks to which my reply was, I don’t need one. – and that felt good. I don’t NEED a fancy new car, a big new house, a love relationship, kids or any of that because life is abundant for me today.

A few weeks ago my business coaching appointment revealed that I WANT to have a house on the water in Point Grey, An alternate energy car for the environment and a business that employs many people so they can feel the abundance too. I want to give the best to my new family. I WANT to create wealth and abundance and I don’t NEED to be a big fat capitalist to do it. The reason I want more is so I can give more. So in order to do that, I will need to create more. In otherwords: The more I give, the more I receive – I Want to be a conduit for wealth, abundance and prosperity.

This I my visualization and meditation and I ask for your help and guidance.

It’s hard saying that out loud.

Donna and I have been working on a new blog/website. It's not a personal blog, but a business blog and you can see it here: www.vancouverdungeon.com. The Calendar of events is going to be the coolest, listing everything you ever wanted to know going on in the kink and alternative world around Vancouver.

Those interested can feel free to comment and read up on what's going on with BIO. Comments won't show up right away because they are moderated but I would appreciate the practice and activity to see how it all works. There is an awesome new links section on the site that uses a drop down menu for the categories. Make sure we've got your blurb right if you are a linkee.

Chivalry

I held the door open for a woman behind me as I was entering the Bank this morning. She said thank you and scooted past me to get in line in front of me. It was the business banking line up and she had a substantial amount of banking to do. I don't like being a doormat. It was everything I had to keep from making a scene.
