17th-Feb-2009 11:24 am - Busy time for me

No matter how slow things get in the market place, when it comes to marketing and design the big players keep visible. They might decrease distribution but that means target market research goes up to maximize exposure and there is always the artwork and design no matter how small the campaign - whether it be social networking online or otherwise.

I am fortunate to be working with some of the best in the business and that some of the best in the business see me as the *Ka-Ching!* and keep up their marketing plans and value the branding consistency. I am fortunate to be listened to and on the flip side I am even more fortunate to be learning so much from them as well.

This is a good time for me and my clients seem to be doing quite well. I am grateful for this and my heart goes out to those hurt by the downturn.

30th-Oct-2008 07:59 am - The Price of Eggs in China

As a child I was known to my Mother as The bureau of Useless Information when I would set forth on a wild encyclopedic explanation for something like the existence of the Platypus. My Momma would say to me after an exhausting one way conversation at her, “What’s that got to do with the price of eggs in China?” Even at such a young age I knew the meaning behind this. I didn’t even care about the price of eggs anywhere.

My how things have changed. OK, maybe the Platypus has nothing to do with the price of anything but I’ll bet my U.S. retirement fund it’s only time before it does. Global economy is here to stay and it works well when all of the G7 are doing well.

Global economy is a bit like buying an all-in-one DVD, TV, Surround Sound systems. Bits and pieces from all over the world come together to make one nice sweet package. But when sound stops coming out of the right side, the whole thing is junk.

Canada is poised well to take on a little economic pump, or so they say. I just hope the price of eggs in China aren’t effected too much by our friends south of the border for too long.
